Treasures of the Trail is a guide to the popular areas of Edworthy Park, Lawrey Gardens, and the Douglas Fir Trail in west Calgary, Alberta. This guidebook is in two parts, Part I consists of six overviews - Geology and Paleontology, Plants, Animals, Butterflies, Archaeology and Native Culture, and History. Part II describes five walking routes: Western Plateau of the Edworthy Park, Brickburn and the Pond Lookout Trail, Edworthy Park Riverside, Douglas Fir Trail West, Quarry Road Trail, Lawrey Gardens, and the Douglas Fir Trail East.
Join us as we discover the treasures of the trail - treasures shown in the stunning bird, mammal, reptile, and amphibian photographs of Dr. Wayne Lynch, Canada's foremost nature photographer, and in the beautiful wildflower photographs of Paul Bealieu, Michael Buckley, and others.
The Edworthy Park Heritage Society is a non-profit Society and registered charity dedicated to the preservation of Edworthy Park and the neighbouring areas of Paskapoo Slopes, Lawrey Gardens, Brickburn and the Douglas Fir Trail as natural areas.
